AIR DEFENCE COMMAND AND CONTROL CENTRE CELEBRATES 16TH ANNIVERSARY

Air Defence Command and Control Centre (ADC&CC) at Mirigama celebrated its 16th anniversary yesterday (01 July 2022). The ADC&CC was established in 2006 with the primary aim of serving the nation by being the nerve center of the National Air Defence Network. Subsequently, SLAF Station Mirigama was established in order to provide administrative, security, logistics, technical and maintenance services, in support of National Air Defence Operations.
The celebration commenced with the formation day parade, which was reviewed by the Group Captain Sanath Fernando, the Commanding Officer of Air Defence Command & Control Centre. The day’s proceedings were concluded with a cricket match which was organized at the Station Sports ground with the participation of all personnel of the Station.
Parallel to the formation day’s celebration, a renovation programme conducted at the Shasanawardhana Mahabodhi Children’s Orphanage at Mirigama with a donation of essential stationery, sports items and dry rations.
