The Change of Command of No. 01 Air Defence Radar Squadron, SLAF Base Katunayake was held yesterday (02 August 2022) where Group Captain DNS Halahakoon USP, MSc (Det & Stat Stu), Pg (Def Mgt), Pg Dip (IR), psc handed over the command to Wing Commander WGND Wewakumbura USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MSc (Mgt), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), AMITD (SL), MIM (SL), psc. The traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over parade was conducted at the Squadron premises.

Group Captain DNS Halahakoon will be proceeding on leave prior to retirement after completion of 25 years of meritorious service to the Sri Lanka Air Force. Wing Commander WGND Wewakumbura previously held the appointment of Officer Commanding Operations of Air Defence Command and Control Centre, SLAF Station Mirigama before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of No 01 Air Defence Radar Squadron.
