SLAF Troops from Special Operations Group Trincomalee recovered a cache of weapons at Kandalkadu, Trincomalee on 24 December, 2010.

The weapons were recovered just before noon based on a tip off by an informant. The stash included a T- 81 weapon, 3 T-81 magazines and 38 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition.

Subsequent to the recovery, the weapons were taken into SLAF custody.
