SLAF STATION KOGGALA CELEBRATES 38TH ANNIVERSARY

SLAF Station Koggala celebrated its 38th anniversary today (19 October 2022). The celebration commenced with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Thilina Rajapaksha. During the remarks, the Commanding Officer paid his sincere gratitude to all the past Commanding Officers and other members who had contributed to the development of the station since its inauguration. Subsequently, a tree planting programme was conducted at the station premises with the participation of the Commanding Officer, all officers and other ranks.
Parallel to the anniversary celebration, a beach cleaning programme at the Koggala beach area, a renovation programme at Unawatuna hospital and Shramadhana campaigns at the Thalathuduwa temple and public cemetery Habaraduwa were conducted.
The anniversary celebrations concluded with a friendly cricket tournament with the participation of all service personnel and civil staff at the station sports ground and followed by an all ranks lunch.
