CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY OF NO. 32 DISASTER MANAGEMENT FIRST RESPONSE COURSE

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No. 32 Disaster Management and First Response Course was held at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Mullaitivu, yesterday (14 November 2022). The Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Mullaitivu, Group Captain ADR Liyanaarachchige graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Commanding Officer Disaster Management Training School, Wing Commander D Jayaweera, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Station were also present for the Certificate Awarding ceremony.

The training programme focused on Introduction of Disasters & Hazard  Profiles, Disaster Management Council Act and role of the Disaster Management Centre, Overview of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment, Information technology related to the Disaster Management  & Geographic information System (GIS), Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear  and Explosive (CBRNE), Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) & international framework of disaster management, Disasters Preparedness plans, Conducting of awareness programme & Civil Law of Emergency Response, Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), Contingency Plan (CP) and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), First Aid, Casualties and death management and Fire & Rescue.

A total of 39 trainees including 01 SLAF Officer and 30 Airmen, 01 SL Army Officer and 01 Other Ranker, 02 SL Navy Officers and 02 Sailors, 01 Special Task Force Officer and 01 Other Ranker received the certificates at the occasion.
