The Change of Command of SLAF Station Morawewa held yesterday (29 November 2022). The traditional handing over/ taking over parade was conducted at the station parade ground. Acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander GS Karunarathne USP, Pg.Dip (Def Mgt) handed over the command to Group Captain BMH Balasooriya USP, MSc, (Def & Strat Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt),psc.   

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain BMH Balasooriya was the Officer Commanding at SLAF Detachment Mattala before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa.

Before taking over the duties as the commanding officer, Group Captain Balasooriya recived his letter of appointment from the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa at his office.
