The Inter Unit Wushu Championship 2022 was held at the Indoor sports complex SLAF Base Katunayake from 30 November 2022 to 02 December 2022. The finals and awards ceremony was held at the same venue yesterday (02 December 2022) with the graceful presence of Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal LH Sumanaweera as the Chief Guest.

The event was conducted under 08 weight categories for Men and 06 weight categories for Women under new rules and regulations of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF). The Men’s Championship was clinched by SLAF Academy China Bay whilst the Women’s Championship was secured by SLAF Station Colombo. SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa emerged as the Runner-up in Men’s category and SLAF Academy China Bay in Women’s category.

Chairman of SLAF Wushu, Group Captain SPS Martino, Officials of Air Force Sports Council, Senior Officers and other invitees participated to witness the finals and Awarding Ceremony.
