MEMBERS OF THE INSTITUTE FOR SECURITY GOVERNANCE VISIT NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS’ MANAGEMENT SCHOOL

A delegation from the Institute for Security Governance (ISG) – United States visited the Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management School at the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay yesterday (06 December 2022), to discuss matters with regard to enhancing the effectiveness and overall standard of the Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management courses for the betterment of military services while addressing the timely prerequisites.
The delegation was headed by Mrs. April Danyluk followed by Colonel Jef Worthing (Retd) and Lieutenant Colonel Terrance Kilgare (Retd) as members of the Institute for Security Governance. Also, two senior non-commissioned officers, Chief Master Sergeant Amber L.Westie and Senior Master Sergeant Sedrick Evans representing the United States, Pacific Air Force and Montana Air National Guard, participated in the discussions.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of the SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara together with the Commanding Officer of Non Commissioned Officers’ Management School and Officers of the school. Further, Group Captain Kapila Ekanayaka and the Command Master Warrant Officer WMSR Jayasinghe represented the Air Force Headquarters for the discussion.
Following the call on of the Commandant, a comprehensive presentation was conducted by the Commanding Officer of the Non Commissioned Management School, Wing Commander Nirosha Senadheera in relation to the School, the overall performance of the school since its inception and future improvements that are currently in progress with regard to the Non Commissioned Officers’ Management courses.
Further, a panel discussion has been conducted at the school’s lecture hall with the participation of more than 140 non-commissioned officers who are currently undertaking the training. After a fruitful brainstorming session, the delegation could identify the most constructive areas and possible suggestions with regard to the Management Course.
The session ended with a presentation by the delegation about all the outcomes of the student survey conducted by them in order to enhance the standards of the course. Further, a productive discussion was held with the instructors of Non Commissioned Officers’ Management School and the representatives of the Air Force Headquarters regarding the future developments of the Non Commissioned Officers’ Management School.
