Command Agro Unit SLAF Base Katunayake successfully conducted a Continues Professional Development (CPD) Training Program on Milk Processing for SLAF service personnel under the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana from 12 to 16 of December 2022. The workshop was designed in liaison with the Command Quality Assurance Inspectorate at AFHQ about the basic understanding of milk processing and the production of dairy products. The five-day programme was carried out in two stages, with theory and practical sessions in order to enhance the knowledge of participants on the particular industry, under the directives of Command Agro Officer, Group Captain PE Gunawardena.

The training workshop was conducted at the Milk Processing Unit with the participation of 19 servicemen representing various SLAF establishments and the course was composed of subjective areas as, an Introduction to the composition of milk and its quality specifications and practical procedures on quality testing of Milk, Production methodology of Yogurt, Yogurt Drink, Butter and Curds, Quality Assurance of Finished Dairy Products and assessment of Quality Defects of Yogurt and Curd products.
