Indian Air Chief Arrives in Sri Lanka

Chief of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Pradeep Vasant Naik arrived in Sri Lanka a short while ago on Sunday, January 16, 2011 for a four-day official visit.

He was received at the Bandaranaike International Airport by Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke.

The Indian Air Chief and his spouse, Madam Madhubala Naik, were accompanied by a delegation comprising of the Indian Air Coordinator Air Commodore Vivek Ram Chandhari and Squadron Leader Sangeeth Kathait (ADC).

The Indian Air Chief is expected to call on the Head of State, the Minister of External Affairs, the Defence Secretary, and Commanders of the tri forces. He is also scheduled to visit the Flying Squadrons of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

Air Chief Marshal Naik was commissioned to the Indian Air Force on 21 June, 1969 and is a qualified and vastly experienced flying instructor and a fighter combatant leader. 



Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
