The Sri Lanka Air Force, which is gearing up to celebrate its 72nd anniversary as the "Guardians of the Skies" conducted the "Pichcha Mal Pooja" at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya for the sixth consecutive time. The event was organized under the auspices of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana this evening (28 February 2023) by SLAF Station Colombo to invoke blessings for the SLAF personnel and the entire Air Force. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana also participated in the event.

Members of the Air Force Board of Management, along with their spouses, Base Commanders and Commanding Officers, a cross section of Officers and Other Ranks from Air Force Headquarters and other Air Force establishments participated in this event. The event marks the beginning of the series of events lined up in view of the SLAF anniversary celebrations.
