The No. 01 Air Defence Radar Squadron at SLAF Base Katunayake celebrated its 17th Anniversary today (10 March 2023) under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander WGND Wewakumbura. The Radar Squadron was initially established on 10th March 2006.

The anniversary celebration commenced with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer and followed by a donation of dry rations and stationery to the needy who reside in close proximity to the Base. Finally, a sporting event was organized with the participation of all members of the Squadron.
