The Change of Command at the No. 01 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing, SLAF Base Katunayake, was held today (13 March 2023). The Traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over parade was conducted at the Wing premises. The Acting Commanding Officer, Group Captain MPPC Perera MSc (Mgt) handed over the command to Group Captain RMKTK Gunasekara MSc (Def & Strat Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc.

Group Captain Perera overlooked the duties as the Commanding Officer of the No. 01 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing to date while commanding the General Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain RMKTK Gunasekara, previously held the appointment of Officer Commanding Maintenance at No.08 Tactical Transport Squadron at SLAF Base Ratmalana before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of No.01 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake.
