ADJUTANT GENERAL OF THE STATE OF MONTANA NATIONAL GUARD CALLS ON THE COMMANDER OF THE AIR FORCE

The Adjutant General of the State of Montana National Guard and the Head of the Delegation, Major General Peter J Hronek and the crew called on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, yesterday evening (17 May 2023).

During the meeting, Air Marshal Pathirana, Major General Peter and the delegates engaged in productive discussions on matters of bilateral importance, which included the strengthening of defence cooperation and the exploration of enhanced training opportunities. Moreover, the meeting provided a prospect for further solidifying the partnership between the State of Montana National Guard and the SLAF.

Following the productive discussions, Major General Peter J. Hronek and the crew had the privilege of meeting with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and Members of the Air Force Board of Management. As a symbol of appreciation and goodwill, official plaques were exchanged between the Commander and the visiting dignitaries. In recognition of this visit, a special memento was presented to Mrs. Traci Hronek, the Spouse of the Adjutant General of the State of Montana National Guard, by the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.

The event was attended by Montana National Guard Executive Officer, Major Kevin Dighans, State Partnership Programme Director, Major Christopher Cory and officials in the Embassy of the United States in Sri Lanka.

Yesterday morning, the US delegation visited SLAF Base Katunayake including the No. 02 Heavy Transport Squadron, the Aircraft Engineering Wing and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Wing. This visit provided valuable insights into the capabilities and operations of the SLAF, contributing to a deeper understanding of each other's military capacities.

Overall, the visit of Major General Peter J. Hronek and the delegation from the State of Montana National Guard to the Sri Lanka Air Force proved to be a significant step in fostering cooperation, exchange and friendship between the two military entities.Air Force Headquarters Visit
