The Inter-Unit and Open Tennis Tournament -2023 was held at the Tennis Courts Complex, SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, from 04 July to 12 July 2023.

The Tennis Team, SLAF Station Colombo, won the team event and secured the Champion's trophy, while SLAF Academy China Bay emerged as Runner-Up in the Inter-Unit Tennis Tournament 2023. Air Commodore Rajinth Jayawardena and Group Captain Samantha Weerasekara won the Championship medals in the Open Double category and also in the Veterans’ Double category. Officer Cadet Jayasundara JMVP and Group Captain Samantha Weerasekara secured the medals in the Open Single's and Veteran Single's events, respectively.

The Awards Ceremony was held at the same venue yesterday (12 July 2023) with the graceful presence of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, as the Chief Guest. The Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff, all members of the Air Force Board of Management, the Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, the Commandant SLAF Academy China Bay, the Chairman SLAF Tennis, the Director Sports, members of the Air Force Sports Council and other invitees participated in the event.
