The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa called on the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Hon. Roshan Ranasinghe, at the Ministry of Sports today (02 August 2023). Following cordial discussions, the Minister handed over the letter of appointment to the Commander, appointing him as an active member of the National Sports Council.
 
The National Sports Council comprises experienced professionals from multiple fields, who have consistently worked throughout their careers to restore and revitalize a strong sports culture both locally and globally. The respective appointment encompasses to provide assistance and guidance in uplifting the standards of Sri Lankan sports, formulating policies and developing sports-related infrastructure.

Following the proceedings, commemorative tokens were exchanged between the Minister and the Commander to denote the occasion.
