SLAF Station Mullaitivu celebrated its 12th Anniversary yesterday (03 August 2023). The day's celebrations commenced with a working parade and an address to all officers, airmen, and civil staff of the Station by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain DGPL Jayathilaka, followed by a tree plantation program at the Office of the Regional Director of Health Service (RDHS) Mullaitivu followed by an all-ranks breakfast.

On 17 and 20 July 2023, the Station took part in Shramadhana campaigns, focusing on improving the healthy environments at District General Hospital Mullaivelli and the Office of the Regional Director of Health Service (RDHS) Mullaitivu. The station personnel actively engaged in cleaning the hospital premises to create a comfortable atmosphere for the patients. Additionally, the service personnel renovated the bus stop at Wattappalai junction.

The Station personnel also actively participated in a blood donation campaign held on 28 July 2023, with more than 70 personnel donating blood. This contribution to the national blood bank will potentially help save numerous lives during emergencies.

In line with the anniversary celebrations, a sports meet was organized to build the harmony among the servicemen, with the participation of all officers, airmen and civil staff of the Station. Elle, dart, carom, volleyball, cricket and table tennis matches were held and the final football match took place yesterday as a night match. Special prizes were awarded to the winners and an entertaining programme was organized at the end of the competition.
