DEFENCE SERVICES WOMEN’S HOCKEY TEAM VICTORIOUS IN 24TH SENIOR WOMEN’S NATIONAL HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP – 2023

The Defence Services Hockey Team emerged victorious with the triumph over the Wennappuwa Hockey Association team during the finals in the 24th Senior Women’s National Hockey Championship 2023 yesterday (06 August 2023) at Albert Peiris Stadium, Wennappuwa.
Nine Hockey Teams strived in the tournament and Defence Services Hockey Team earned the spot by defeating the Colombo Hockey Team in a diligently contested semifinal. Ultimately, the Defence Services Hockey Association team was honoured for the title by defeating the Wennappuwa Hockey Team 03-00 during the Grand Finale.
The Director Maxis (Pvt) Ltd, Mrs. Sachee Perera graced the Awarding Ceremony as the Chief Guest. The victorious Defence Services Hockey Team was comprised of seven SLAF, seven SL Navy and four SL Army exuberant Hockey Players.
