SLAF REGIMENT TRAINING SCHOOL VANNI CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY

SLAF Regiment Training School Vanni celebrated its 10th Anniversary yesterday (07 November 2023), with a focus on social and recreational activities, under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain VGGB Piyasiri.
The day commenced with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer. During his remarks, the Commanding Officer expressed his gratitude to all officers, other ranks and civilian staff for their dedicated efforts in successfully executing significant events at the station and contributing to the improvement of SLAF Regiment Training School's standards. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of discipline, rigorous training and operational preparedness for the future prospects of the School.
Following the parade, a multi-religious ceremony was conducted and afterwards, all officers, other ranks and civilian staff actively participated in a formal breakfast gathering.
As part of the Anniversary celebration, a cleaning programme was carried out at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Madu in Mannar on 27 October 2023, with the participation of 80 individuals.
Additionally, a Blood Donation programme took place on 01 October 2023, in response to a request from the Blood Bank of General Hospital Mannar, which was facing a shortage of blood donors. A total of 86 staff members from different sections within the station volunteered to contribute to this initiative.
The Anniversary celebration concluded with a friendly Cricket Tournament, featuring the participation of service personnel and civilian staff at the Station Sports Ground, followed by a lunch for all ranks.
