The Graduation ceremony of the prestigious National Defence College (NDC) Course No.02 was held at the National Defence College premises yesterday (21 November 2023). The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defence, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was received by the Commandant of National Defence College, Major General Sujeewa Senerath Yapa (Retd).

Course No. 02 commenced on 09 January 2023 and a total of 36 Officers comprising of 15 Officers from the Sri Lanka Army, 08 Officers from the Sri Lanka Navy, 07 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force and 06 Officers from Sri Lanka Police, graduated on the occasion upon successful completion of the year-long course with the qualification of ‘National Defence Course' ndc an acronym for post-nominal. The parchments were conferred on all graduates who have achieved accreditation during the ceremony by the Chief Guest, Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, participated in the event. State Minister of Defence, Hon. Pramitha Bandara Thennakoon, Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff, Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General  Kamal Gunaratne(Retd), Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, Inspector General of Police Mr CD Wickramarathne, Vice Chancellor  General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University – Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, Members of the Board of Management of the NDC, Members of the Academia, Senior Officers of the Tri Services and Police and also Spouses of the graduates were among the distinguished guests.
