13TH OVERALL OFFICERS FLIGHT SAFETY WORKSHOP AND THE 2ND OFFICERS' WORKSHOP FOR YEAR 2023

The 13th Overall Flight Safety Workshop for officers and the 2nd Officers' workshop conducted for the year 2023 was successfully completed on 24th November 2023 at the Air Force Museum Auditorium, SLAF Base Ratmalana.
Making the opening note, the Director Flight Safety, Air Commodore Amal Perera, emphasized the aim of the workshop and its expectations to the course participants. The resource personnel of SLAF; namely Group Captain WADC Wijesinghe (Introduction to Aircraft Accident Investigations), Group Captain GSS Perera (Aviation Physiology), Wing Commander MBGT Dias (Safety Management System), Wing Commander EMN Ekanayake (Human Factor), Wing Commander TP De Silva (Crew Resource Management), Wing Commander AHS Premarathne (Aviation Physiology), Wing Commander GDP Premadasa (Material Factor), Squadron Leader RAGP Ranasinghe (Safety Management System), Squadron Leader SAASN Siyambalapitiya (Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard) and Squadron Leader WDLPA Silva (Aspects of ATC in Flight safety) shared a wealth of knowledge with the participants during the workshop.
The Flight Safety Workshop was organized by the Flight Safety Inspectorate of the SLAF to inculcate flight safety awareness among the Officers who are directly and indirectly engaged in the Air Operations of the SLAF. A total of 16 Officers consisting of General Duties Pilot, Aeronautical and General Engineering, Operations Air, Electronic Engineering, Logistic, Regiment, Medical and Civil Engineering branches participated in the workshop which was conducted for 05 days.
The certificates were awarded by Commanding Officer No. 4 Squadron Group Captain DL Hewavitharana during the closing address while remarks were made by FSI (ATC), Squadron Leader WDLPA Silva.
