The Sri Lanka Air Force celebrated the New Year festivities with the participation of all Officers, other ranks, and civilians in the company of their families at the respective Bases, Units and Stations. All events centered around traditions and customs and all young and old alike enjoyed the Avurudu games.

The main function was held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo where the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama was the chief guest.
