The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickreme conducted the Annual Inspection of SLAF Stations Ampara (29 April 2011).

The Commanding Officer of SLAF Ampara, Wing Commander Keerthi Ekanayake received the Commander on his arrival to the Station and a Guard of Honour was conferred by Flight Lieutenant Lasantha. The Sri Lanka Air Force Regiment Training Center is located at this Station and Advance Training of Regiment
Officers and Gunners is conducted here.
