SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT COMPLETES A PROJECT WITH NEW WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT AT THIMLATHIVU VILLAGE

Another 'Guwan Mithudam' Community Service project concluded successfully today (09 September 2024) at Thirappan Thurei Kannagi Ammaan Kovil, Thimlathivu Village, facilitated by SLAF Station Batticaloa. The Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, honoured the event as the chief guest and the new water supply system was officially handed over to the community.

The project was conducted under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Batticaloa, Group Captain Sarath Bandara and coordinated by the Officer in Charge of Station Seva Vanitha Unit, Squadron Leader AT Sellar. It was initiated and funded by the ‘Husma Plan' of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, while the manpower was provided by the SLAF Station Batticaloa.

Under the guidance of the Chairperson, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, 100 dry ration packs were distributed to the needy families of the village, who are experiencing financial hardships. Additionally, lunch was provided for all the pre-school children.

The ceremony was attended by President Seva Vanitha Unit of Air Force Station Batticaloa, Mrs. Nilmini Deepika Kumari, senior members of the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, staff of the Seva Vanitha unit, officers and other rankers of SLAF station Batticaloa and villagers of Thimlathivu Village.
