‘SENEHASA' WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS 2024

In parallel to the world children’s day celebrations-2024, a special event was organized for the children of Senehasa Education Resource Research and Information Centre (SERRIC) today (30 September 2024) at the Air Force Museum premises. This event was organized with the blessings of the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa.
‘Senehasa’ Education Resource Research and Information Centre is a childcare institution which is established under the Ministry of Defence and Ranaviru Seva Authority with the prime purpose of caring and supporting the needs, dreams and aspirations of children with special needs. This institute provides day time special care for children of service and civil employees of tri-services, Sri Lanka Police department and the Civil Security Department.
Therefore, with the aim of giving a memorable experience for these children, SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit organized this special children’s day programme at the Air Force Museum with several segments to provide entertainment for them. The Chairperson of Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa graced this occasion as the Chief Guest. An Air dogs’ show as well as a Calypso band display was arranged which grabbed the special attention of these children.
Event was attended by the Commandant of Senehasa Education Resource Research and Information Center, Brigadier Rohana Madugoda, the Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara, Commanding Officer Air Force Museum, Group Captain Dayan Sumanasekara, the staff, teachers, Seva Vanitha staff and parents of these children.
