A total of 245 Gunners from the 148th ‘A’ Regular Airmen Combat Course passed out yesterday (01st July 2011) at the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay after completing 17 weeks of challenging training.

The Combat Training School of the SLAF Academy, conducted the training focusing on drill, weapon training, tactics, field craft, map reading, Air Force Organization and Administration, Air Force Law as well as basic
knowledge in explosives handling, Jungle and Combat First Aid.

The Parade was commanded by Wing Commander PSN Fernando whilst the Parade Adjutant was Flight Lieutenant SC Maduwala.

Director Health Services Air Vice Marshal NH Gunaratna graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commandant of the SLAF Academy Air Vice Marshal Kapila Jayampathy was also present on the occasion.

Based on the performance during the period of training, the following Gunners were awarded trophies.
