SLAF PRESERVES AVIATION LEGACY WITH PT-6 MONUMENT AT RANTAMBE

In a remarkable tribute to its proud aviation heritage, the Sri Lanka Air Force has mounted a PT-6 trainer aircraft as a monument at the National Cadet Corps Training Centre, Rantambe.

This accomplishment was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Directorate of General Engineering , Directorate of Civil Engineering, SLAF Base Katunayake, Aeronautical Engineering Wing, Aircraft Overhaul Wing, and General Engineering Wing, who provided engineering expertise. Additionally, No. 01 Command Heavy Vehicle Pool and No. 26 Regiment Wing contributed by ensuring ground movement and security.

The project was successfully executed under the guidance of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara whose leadership ensured its smooth completion.

The newly mounted PT-6 now stands as a proud symbol of inspiration for generations of cadets and aviators to come.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
