‘CLAPPENBURG REST’ OFFICERS’ HOLIDAY HOME DECLARED OPEN AT SLAF ACADEMY CHINA BAY
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe declared open the newly renovated Officers’ Holiday Home, ‘Clappenburg Rest’ , at the SLAF Academy China Bay today (22 February 2026).
The Clappenburg Detachment, located adjacent to Eagles’ Bay View resort within the Academy premises, has been refurbished and transformed into a modern four (04)-suite holiday accommodation facility. The project was undertaken under the patronage of the Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore Amal Perera.
Renovation of the facility was made possible through financial assistance from the Command Welfare Fund, together with support from Service Institute Fund, SLAF Academy China Bay. The newly upgraded holiday home is expected to further enhance recreational and holiday amenities available to SLAF personnel and their families.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, Director General Constructions Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Vajira Senadheera, Director General Welfare, Air Vice Marshal Rajinth Jayewardene and other invitees.
