The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Station Katukurunda today (07 August 2026). The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain MP Abeywickrama, and was accorded by a street line. The Commander awarded the Certificates of Commendation to the following personnel for their meritorious contribution to the Station in particular and to the Air Force in general.

The Commander inspected the research and development, operational and administrative areas of the Station. Addressing officers, all ranks and civilian staff, the Commander highlighted the vital role of SLAF Station Katukurunda. He commended the Commanding Officer and all personnel for their dedication and efforts in maintaining the Station to the expected standards.
