A Successful Run For The SLAF In The Clifford Cup 2011

The Kandy rugby team marked their victory in the semi-finals of the Clifford Cup Knockout Rugby Tournament against the Sri Lanka Air Force at the Bogambara Stadium Kandy on 10th September 2011.
Pradeep Liyanage of Kandy scoring a try put the home team in front. A few minutes later, disappointing the home crowd, the combination of Wing three Mithun Hapugodage and first center Radhika Hettiarachchi put the SLAF in the driving seat by scoring a goal. At the end of the first half SLAF was leading the game by 7 points to 5.
The entire latter part was dominated by the Kandy team however the SLAF's valiant effort, still ensured a tough game of rugby was played for the added benifit the spectators. Dinesh Sanjeewa and Gayan Weerarathna scored a try each to make the final score 15 points to 7.
