On a request by the Police in Ampara SLAF Fire Fighters consisting of Flt Lt RCN Ranneththi, Sgt Paranagama, Cpl Gunasekara, Cpl Sanjeewan and Lac Sanjeewa Equipped with a super truck fire vehicle and water Bowser were deployed at 11.30 am to tackle a fire which had broken out in a store which contained discarded mattresses. The SLAF firefighters successfully extinguished the fire averting further damage.
