A Welfare Shop for personnel at SLAF Base Ratmalana was declared open yesterday (07 April 2010) by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana Air Commodore Sumangala Dias.   

 Under this concept shops have been established throughout the SLAF and are centrally supplied by the Central Welfare shop established at Guwanpura in Colombo. The Welfare shop provides all essentials at extremely low cost.

The project is based on a concept the of Command to ensure the welfare of the men and women under his Command.
