No. 61 Junior Command and Staff Course Commences
Twenty Two Officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Two Officers from the
Sri Lanka Navy, one officer from Bangladesh Air Force and one lady
officer from the United States Air Force were present as participants
when No. 61 Junior Command and Staff Course commenced on 1st July 2019
at the Junior Command and Staff College (JC & SC), Sri Lanka Air
Force Academy, China Bay.
Group Captain SDGM Silva WWV,RSP, MSc (Miltary Stu), MSc (Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu) fawc, psc, delivered the opening address following which the Chief Instructor and Senior Instructor briefed the Student Officers about important aspects of the Course. After the Directing Staff introduced themselves, the Student Officers were also given the opportunity for self introductions.
The course is for a duration of 14 weeks and is scheduled to be conducted between 1st July 2019 to 24th September 2019.
This is the first time a foreign Lady Student Officer is following the course at the JC & SC. Further, the Indian Air Force has confirmed that one Officer will be joining the course shortly.
