GRADUATION CEREMONY OF NO 67 JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE
The Graduation Ceremony of No 68 Junior Command and Staff Course was held at the Junior Command and Staff College Auditorium at the SLAF Academy in China Bay yesterday morning (03 December 2021). Air Vice Marshal C H R SOYSA USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BA (Def Stu), psc the Director Welfare of the SLAF graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony marked the end of a 14-week long course attended by a total of 31 Officers out of which 28 Officers were from the SLAF in the ranks of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant one Officer from Sri Lanka Navy and two officers from Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Course No 68 was the fifth course to be conducted as a hybrid e-learning/contact class. After two weeks of e-Learning while completing the quarantine the student officers started their contact phase. The officers proceeded for their Management Module for two weeks in the fifth week as an e-learning phase.
The Junior Command and Staff College is accredited to the Kotelawala Defence University and the Officers who fulfil the required criteria will be offered a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commanding Officer of the College emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge gained for the betterment of the Air Force and the nation and also stressed that integrity is a very high priority for Officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force. All 31 Officers received certificates of completion and special achievement awards from the Chief Guest.
