The Opening Address of No 47 Junior Command and Staff Course
The 47th Junior Command and Staff Course commenced on 5th January 2015 at the Junior Command and Staff College at Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay. The Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Janak Wanigathunge addressed the Course Participants at the College auditorium and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity afforded by the course to improve themselves to take on junior staff responsibilities in the SLAF.
The Junior Command and Staff College was established in 1999 with the aim of developing the professional and managerial knowledge of Officers in the rank of Squadron Leader and below and of preparing them to hold staff Appointments.
A total of 19 SLAF officers in the rank of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant, 04 officers from the Navy in the rank of Lieutenant Commander and 01 officer from Bangladesh Air Force will be following the 47th Course for a duration of 14 weeks (05 January 2015 to 06 April 2015).
Following the opening address, the course participants were given an opportunity to introduce themselves. The Directing Staff then gave the participants an overview of the course and the expectations of the course.
