No. 51 Junior Command and Staff Course Commences
The No. 51 Junior Command and Staff Course commenced on 25th April 2016
at the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy,
China Bay. The Opening Address was conducted by the Commandant, Air
Commodore PDKT Jayasinghe and the Commanding Officer, Group Captain AJ
Amerasinghe.
The Junior Command and Staff College was established in 1999 with the aim of developing the professional and managerial knowledge of Officers in the rank of Squadron Leader and below in order to prepare them to hold staff appointments.
A total of 20 Sri Lanka Air Force Officers in the rank of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant, 04 Officers form Sri Lanka Army in the rank of Captain, 01 Officer from the Sri Lanka Navy in the rank of Lieutenant and 01 Squadron Leader from Bangladesh Air Force are following the staff course for a duration of 14 weeks (25th April 2016 to 06th August 2016).
Soon after the Opening Address, a self-introduction session by the student officers was conducted and subsequently the Directing Staff gave an overview of the expectation of the course to all the Student Officers.
