Progress of No. 78 JC&SC Course
COURSE VISITS OF NO. 78 JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE
The No. 78 Junior Command & Staff Course conducted their course visit to No. 7 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Higurakgoda and No. 7 ADRS at SLAF Station Pidurutalagala from 17 to 18 March 2025. During the visit to No. 7 Helicopter Squadron on 17 March, Student Officers participated in an air reconnaissance exercise. On 18 March, they visited No. 7 ADRS at SLAF Station Pidurutalagala for the first time in JC&SC history, receiving a briefing on its functions and importance. These visits marked the completion of their scheduled course visits.
IHL MODULE AT UNIVERSITY OF COLOMBO – NO. 78 JC&SC
The student officers of the No. 78 Junior Command and Staff Course successfully completed a training programme on International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law at the Center for the Study of Human Rights at the University of Colombo. The programme commenced on 15th January 2025, conducted by an expert panel of scholars from the University of Colombo. On 17th January 2025, a Certificate Awarding Ceremony was held, marking the successful completion of the programme. The event was graced by Dr. Udapadhini Liyanage, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo.

BREAKER” EVENT OF NO. 78 JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF

The No. 78 Junior Command and Staff Course commenced with an "Ice Breaker" event on 4th January 2025 at the Officers’ Mess, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay. The event was graced by the Commanding Officer of No. 01 L&R Wing, alongside faculty members and senior Officers of the Academy. This occasion provided a unique platform for the 28 student Officers to engage meaningfully with the senior leadership, exchange valuable insights and foster camaraderie as they embarked on their professional journey through the course.
