SLAF Assist in Dousing Fire in Singhamale Forest Reserve

The SLAF deployed a Bell 212 Helicopter equipped with a 900 ltr Bambi Bucket from SLAF Base Ratmalana to assist in the fighting of a sudden fire that had started in the Singhamale Forest Reserve area.

The Bell-212 helicopter of the No 4 Squadron was utilized immediately to carry-out the Bambi Bucket Operation. The helicopter was captained by Wing Commander Uditha De Silva and co- piloted by Flight Lieutenant Piyashan Karawita.

The Helicopter carried out 6 Bambi operations before returning to Base.
