The 47th National Games - Marathon and Race Walking events were successfully concluded on 8 and 9 October 2022 respectively at Gampaha district. There were 40 national level competitors in the Men's marathon and 19 Women competed in the walking race accordingly.

During the National Marathon event, Leading Aircraftman Rathnapala TW secured the first place and won the Gold Medal in 42km long Men's Race recording the best time after five years in the National Marathon while Leading Aircraftman Perera MTIS recorded the 8th place. Leading Aircraftwoman Dilhani THD bagged the Silver Medal in National Race Walking Women’s category whilst Leading Aircraftwoman Kalyani WHL secured the 4th place respectively.
