SPECIAL WELFARE INITIATIVE FOR FALLEN HEROES’ FAMILIES HELD AT SLAF COMBAT TRAINING SCHOOL
The SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa conducted a specialised medical, dental and mental health clinic today (12 February 2026). The event was held at the school premises under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Lalith Sugathadasa.
This initiative was part of a broader welfare programme launched by the Directorate of Welfare across the Air Force establishments to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The clinic was specifically organised to honour the sacrifices of personnel Killed in Action (KIA) and those Missing in Action (MIA) by providing essential healthcare and emotional support to their next of kin. The programme was executed with the active participation of the School’s Medical Officers, Dental Officer and a Psychologist, supported by the dedicated nursing and hospital staff of the school.
During the session, a total of 46 family members received medical consultations. The dental clinic was also successfully completed while Psychologist conducted an interactive session focused on mental health and emotional well-being, providing a supportive space for the families.
Following the clinical sessions, participants were hosted for lunch and the day concluded by providing an opportunity for the families to engage with the school staff in a spirit of fellowship. .
